[Jewish] Sen. Joe Lieberman who accepted CUFI's "Defender of Israel" Award on Tuesday evening, appeared to offer some criticism of the Obama policy... 'The chief obstacle to peace in the Middle East is not Israelis living on the West Bank but the regime in Tehran,' he said...

Although he didn't go into details about what he meant, [Jewish] Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) told CUFI that U.S. policies in the Middle East must be "firmly grounded" in Judeo-Christian principles." -- JTA article

"A delegation of 25 US congressmen began a six-day trip to Israel today [Aug 3] in the largest ever Republican mission to visit the Jewish state, the US embassy said. They held talks with Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman... Representative Eric Cantor...leads the delegation and said before departure the trip was aimed at reassuring Israel of Washington's unbending support.
