"A little learning is a
dangerous thing"

"Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's father died Monday morning at age 102... Benzion Netanyahu, who had a deep, formative influence on the prime minister's thinking, and who will be widely remembered as a great Zionist visionary, held views on Arabs and war that were simply horrific (as expressed in an April 2009 interview):

"The Jews and the Arabs are like two goats facing each other on a narrow bridge. One must jump to the river - but that involves a danger of death. The strong goat will make the weaker one jump ... and I believe the Jewish power will prevail. [This] will include withholding food from Arab cities, preventing education, terminating electrical power and more. They won't be able to exist, and they will run away from here. But it all depends on the war, and whether we will win the battles with them..." (source: Maariv, 2009-04-03)

-- Larry Derfner article

Why is it that self-styled "liberal Jews" like Mr. Derfner are always shocked (shocked!) to hear the founding principles of Zionism upon which their whole society is based?

Perhaps he was unaware that Benzion Netanyahu was Ze'ev Jabotinsky's personal secretary, and became chairman of the radical New Zionist Organization in New York after Jabotinsky's sudden death in 1940. His "horrific" views regarding the forcible expulsion of non-Jews from Eretz Yisrael simply reflect the "Iron Wall" policy declared by his mentor nearly a century ago.

"To think that the Arabs will voluntarily consent to the realization of Zionism in return for the cultural and economic benefits we can bestow on them is infantile...

Every indigenous people will resist alien settlers as long as they see any hope of ridding themselves of the danger of foreign settlement. That is what the Arabs in Palestine are doing, and what they will persist in doing as long as there remains a solitary spark of hope that they will be able to prevent the transformation of "Palestine" into the "Land of Israel".

Thus we conclude that we cannot promise anything to the Arabs of the Land of Israel or the Arab countries. Their voluntary agreement is out of the question...

Zionist colonization...must either be terminated or carried out in defiance of the will of the native population...under the protection of a force independent of the local population - an iron wall which the native population cannot break through. This is, in toto, our policy towards the Arabs. To formulate it any other way would only be hypocrisy.

As long as there is a spark of hope that they can get rid of us, they will not sell these hopes, not for any kind of sweet words or tasty morsels, because they are not a rabble but a nation, perhaps somewhat tattered, but still living. A living people makes such enormous concessions on such fateful questions only when there is no hope left."

-- Ze'ev Jabotinsky, "The Iron Wall" (1923)

The iron wall has since been reinforced with concrete and razor wire, and almost all of Palestine is now under Jewish control as planned. The Netanyahu policy of withholding food, medicine, water and other essentials from the remaining captive population -- reducing them to the point where "there is no hope left" -- is nothing less than genocide.

Jabotinsky, one of the fathers of the Jewish State whose image is featured on the 100 shekel banknote, also founded the militant Betar Zionist Youth movement. Both Netanyahu and his son, the current Prime Minister, attended the recent Betar memorial service honoring Jabotinsky -- and reaffirming their support of his policies.

A few years ago, the U.N. International Court of Justice declared the racist "separation wall" to be illegal, but the Jewish State has successfully ignored dozens of similar U.N. resolutions since its inception. The Zionist program for the occupation and "ethnic cleansing" of Eretz Yisrael continues, despite such token opposition.

"The construction of the wall being built by Israel, the occupying Power, in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including in and around East Jerusalem, and its associated regime, are contrary to international law... Israel is under an obligation to...cease forthwith the works of construction of the wall... to dismantle forthwith the structure therein situated...[and] to make reparation for all damage caused by the construction of the wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territory."

UPDATE: The "iron wall" has now been upgraded to the "Iron Dome", a billion dollar missile defense system funded by American taxpayers. The name choice for this system was not accidental.
